Dean School of Agriculture Mr. Ganesh Dutt Bhatt participated in Advanced Technology Programme on 5th, December, 2019 at Radisson Blu Plaza, New Delhi. The program specially focussed on Indian Agriculture Global Dialogue on Digital Pathways in Agricultural areas. The program was jointly arranged by The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence (CII-FACE). This technology program highlighted the advancement of technologies which have reshaped agriculture sector worldwide and its real significance in the Indian agriculture system.
It also focussed upon Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data and Internet of Things, Smart Farming practices using Satellite and Remote Sensing Analytics, Moisture and Nutrient Sensors for Soil, Robotics and Advanced Machineries that are creating value for all the segments of this sector and thus contributing to increase in the overall efficiency.
The benefit of technologies should reach to the farmers through multiple channels, multi-stakeholder partnerships between innovators, industry, government and Academia. Both industry and government are the largest stakeholders in the Agricultural sector and they are continuously deploying technology-based solutions on the farm. These solutions are either developed in house, at an Agri - University, or sourced through a partnership with an innovative venture.
