Topic: International Taxation and Advisory Services
Guest Speaker: CA Bhanu Sharma, Principal Consultant, EY
Considering the importance and relevance of international taxation and advisory services to the students of MBA(FM), BBA(FIA) and M.Com. School of Finance and Commerce, Galgotias University organized a guest speaker session on the same in C &ndash Block Auditorium at the GU campus.
The School invited CA. Bhanu Sharma, Principal Consultant, EY as guest speaker for the session. CA Bhanu Sharma. He is a tax and regulatory professional with proven credentials. He has worked with two of the prestigious Big Four Consulting Firms of world, EY and KPMG. His clientele included multiple domestic as well as international corporations in the areas of infrastructure, manufacturing and service industry with respect to their tax and regulatory matters in India.
The dignitaries present at the session were Prof. Y. P. Singh &ndash Advisor SFC and the Dean of the School -Dr Salim Shamsher.
The day began with the welcoming the guest with bouquet and memento by the Dean SFC. During his session the guest speaker discussed about GST and its pros and cons. He told the students that GST was introduced as conceptualized single nation-wide taxation system but the purpose was defeated as portal crashed on 2nd day of implementation. Price of necessity goods have gone down after GST. He spoke at length on how international corporations handled GST implementation. He also discussed about the career opportunities in advisory services like financial analyst and risk advisory. He appreciated School of finance and Commerce for introducing such speaker sessions and told students to take advantage of it. Several questions were put by the students to the speaker.
At the end of the session, Prof. Y.P. Singh appreciated the effort and encourage the students to participate as much as possible in such events.
At the end Dr. Arvind Sinha, Associate Professor, SFC proposed vote of thanks on behalf to the speaker, dignitaries, students and faculty members for cooperation extended in making it a successful event. The event would not have been successful without the sincere effort put in by the Co-curricular team volunteers in organizing the event.
