The mass communication students of Galgotias University developed the skills on communication for development (C4D) through an experiential learning program on "Awarness on Malnutrition" as part of the induction program for the fresher batch of 2019.
The students performed street play on malnourishment and communicated with the women and children of the Sakipur village through posters and slogans. The students also marched a rally in the village and motivated the women and children to fight against the diseases due to inadequate breastfeeding practices leading to high infant mortality rates in Uttar Pradesh.
The faculty members of school of media along with the NGO Human Touch Foundation organized a visit for sensitizing the budding journalists towards developmental issues hindering the progress of the nation. Students were encouraged to contribute to the society by distributing glucose biscuits and Porridge, clothes to the villagers for free.
Dr. A Ram Pandey, Program Chair, Galgotias University stressed on need to ameliorate the mall-nourished children of the affected area for their better & healthy life. He also urged the NGOs and Government Department to come out with some corrective measure for the plight.
