Prof Harish Narang is a world renowned writer and translator. With over a 100 books published, he is an eminent professor and researcher. With a Mittelstufe in German from Goethe University, Munich, M.A. in English from University of Delhi and PhD from J.N.U., Professor Narang is a polyglot with various academic achievements to his name. His academic responsibilities include being the Chairperson of the Department of English in J.N.U., and being professor in both University of Delhi and J.N.U. He is an expert in Literary translation, African, Canadian and English literature as well as women's writing and Dalit literature. With a total teaching experience of 5 decades and research experience of nearly 4 decades, Professor Narang has published many books, articles and translations - one of them being "Manto my love" - translation of ive stories of Manto. He is a UGC Emeritus Fellow.
Professor Narang conducted a guest lecture in Galgotias University on the topic "Translation theories and praxis" on November 20, 2018. He talked about the importance of translation in today's world and shared his anecdotes with the students. The lecture was successfully conducted and received. Professor Narang talked about his books and their relation with various translation theories.
