School of Liberal Arts celebrated Mental Health Awareness day
School of Liberal Arts(SLA) celebrated Mental Health Awareness day on October 10, 2018 in the C-Block. The event started with the arrival of Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Renu Luthra . First year students volunteered to convey the message through posters. Students were motivated by the inspiring words of VC Madam. Special appreciation was received for a thought provoking poem depicting psychological problems faced during different developmental stages. Awareness about various mental diseases like- dyslexia, drug abuse, Schizophrenia and major depression etc, was created through skits. Audience was made to learn that psychological diseases are a part of our life, one should not refrain from acknowledging the same. They should come out from social stigma and seek help of psychologists to prevent severe damage. Society and community members should also volunteer to help people around them by guiding them to visit counselors for treating deviant behavior and mild mental disorders. Program ended with the motivational speech of Dean SLA Prof Sujaan Singh Negi.
