The INDUCTION PROGRAM started with a grand orientation program at Expo Mart on 20th August. The program started with a student band presenting a mashup of music. This was followed with the presentation by Honarable VC Mam Prof. Renu Luthra which was very motivational. She gave a very inspiring speech to the new first year students. This was followed by an encouraging speck by Prof Sibaram Khara, ProViceChancellor and Prof Avadhesh Kumar, Dean Planning and Procter of Galgotia University.
Afterwards the Dean of Mechanical Engineering and also Chemical Engineering welcomed the students to the Galgotia family.
From the second day, the Induction program was held at Galgotias University campus II. Second day was mainly registration and collection of the undertaking of antiragging documents from the students during the first half of the day. This was followed by Campus Visits for the students and their families including the hostel facilities during the second half of the day. Overall 8 faculty members of School of Mechanical and 2 faculty members of School of Chemical Engineering were assigned to take care of the students during the registration and campus tours. The students were guided by the faculty who were always present at the help desk.
Third Day, ie,. 23rd August, numerous events were organized for the students to welcome them to the Galgotia family and giving them the necessary input for having a fun filled education and taking care of their safety.
It started with Prof Ronald Aseer giving a presentation about the School of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering structure along with an introduction of the faculty. He also introduced the First year Curriculum and the necessary academic guidelines that the students should know.
This was followed by the a presentation of Prof Anamika Paul. She talked about the Prevention of Sexual Harassment. While pointing out the fact that Galgotia University has zero tolerance about such incidents, she focused on giving information to the students the procedure to follow incase such an incident occurs.
During the afternoon session there was a Presentation by Dr. D Samanta who is an Expert on "Why Mathematics is important for an Engineer?"
He very nicely spoke regarding the connections between Mathematics and Engineers. Unless as Engineers the students do not know the basic of Mathematics, the fundamentals of Engineering will have a lack of understanding.
