A moot certainly gives one a learning experience to handle pressure from peers, friends, colleagues, opponents and judges. For every law student, mooting is an essential part of their curriculum.
School of Law at Galgotias University once again pepped up their students for Intra Moot Court Competition 2018-19. This year 8 teams had participated, they were thoroughly grilled by the judges. The students were complimented for their speaking skills by the audience and the judges. The Moot Court Competition was conducted on 31st August, 2018 in the Moot Court Hall. 2 rounds were conducted, preliminary and finals and after rigorous question-answer round, best to teams were ready for the final round.
The purpose of conducting Intra Moots for the students is to give them a glimpse of the National Level Competitions, how they are conducted and what are the appropriate Moot Mannerisms that a law student must possess. It also enhances their research and speaking skills and how in limited period of time the teams have to put forward their arguments.
It is not only the participating teams who put in their effort for the competition, the Moot Court Society comprising of faculties and students also worked hard to make this a huge success. Workshops were conducted by Moot Court Society for the students to motivate them to take part followed by another workshop wherein they were briefed about the benefits and importance of Moot Court Competition and how it will help them to become more confident and better person in their life.
