Dr. Gajanan Sabnis

Gajanan M. Sabnis, Ph. D., P.E., F. ASCE is a native of India, who has lived most of his professional career in the United States. On the other hand, with his professional involvement in concrete and concrete-related topics, he has traveled all over the world and has proven to be very useful link between US, India and other countries. He is well-known for his seminars and presentations as frequently invited speaker at many international conferences.

Dr. Sabnis received his BSCE with Honors from the University of Bombay and his Master's in Structural Engineering from IIT, Bombay in 1963. Later he completed his Ph.D. from Cornell University (1967). His background has varied aspects of civil engineering ranging from academic to research and consulting engineering. He owned the consulting engineering firm for over 18 years from its inception until he gave up his ownership due to personal health problems.

Besides his leadership qualifications and hard-working habits as a devoted civil engineer, he is active in professional societies. He has been active as a chair, secretary or member of various technical committee of ASCE, ACI, PCI and ASEE for the last 30 years. He has a distinct honor of starting activities of ACI and ASCE not only in many parts of the US, but also in other countries.

Dr. Sabnis is an author of more than ten books, his recent contribution being an Indian edition of the well-known professional book titled "Repair and Maintenance of Concrete Structure Illustrated" (August 2001). He has published over 100 research papers in journals in the US as well as abroad.

Dr. Sunil Saigal

The Newark College of Engineering (NCE) at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) enrolls 2981 undergraduate and 1242 graduate students for a total of 4223 students. Its annual budget is $ 30.5 M with additional research expenditure in AY 2009-2010 of $ 13.1 M. The College is organized into six departments with 112 tenure track faculty members, 9 university lecturers and 64 staff members. All of its departments are ranked in the top 100 in the US News and World Record (USNWR) graduate school rankings with an overall ranking of 86 for the College. The College offers degrees at the BS, MS and PhD levels.

Prof. Seeram RamaKrishna

Seeram Ramakrishna is Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Vice-President (Research Strategy) at the National University of Singapore, NUS. As a vice-president his responsibilities include building of synergistic research partnerships with leading institutions around the world and funding organizations to address global challenges such as energy, water, climate change, healthcare, infectious diseases, ageing, and cyber security; and enhancing the research excellence and visibility of NUS.

Professor Seeram assists the university in fostering research collaborations with the members of Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise, CREATE worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Professor Seeram chairs the governing board of Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS), Clean Energy Program Office, National Research Foundation. He serves on the boards of Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES); Energy Studies Institute (ESI), Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Trade & Industry; Temasek Polytechnic, Ministry of Education; and DSO National Laboratories, Ministry of Defence. He is a member of NUS President’s taskforce on Global Asia Institute.

Dr. Pramod Vohra

Dr. Promod Vohra is currently the Dean of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. He has agreed to serve as an advisor to the Chancellor of the Galgotias University. Fascinated by the vision and mission of the university, Dr. Vohra feels that GU is at the cutting edge of modern technical education and is poised to make its mark in the international world of education. Galgotias have an impressive history and a strong foundation to build a lofty future. The name of Galgotias is synonym with pride and quality and Dr. Vohra has agreed to partner and provide his expertise in helping GU reach its dream of shaping young lives into future leaders. The journey of GU will be inspirational and transformational. The Indian youth is hungry for opportunities and GU promises the youth of India and elsewhere an empowerment through quality education and professional development. Dr. Vohra has spent more than 25 years in higher education and is an engineer and a professional educator. His belief in teaching engineering with an understanding of educational pedagogy has served several institutions well. In addition to bringing experience of academic leadership, he brings his industrial experience to the academics, making engineering education more functional and close to real life. Dr. Vohra is well aware of accreditation processes including those of ABET and Higher Learning Commission. Dr. Vohra is committed to meaningful education and is a strong advocate of experiential and technology-based learning.
