Galgotias University - School of Hospitality & Tourism organized Curriculum Conclave
School of Hospitality & Tourism organized its first Curriculum Conclave at University campus with the esteemed presence of Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. Preeti Bajaj; wherein detailed deliberation on curriculum revision took place across the diverse programs & domains of Hospitality & Tourism.
Hospitality & Tourism, as an industry, is one amongst the fastest growing sectors in India, thereby increasing the economy and contributing to country’s largest sources of foreign exchange earnings, revenue generation and employability.
The Dean of School, Prof. (Dr.) Rajiv Mishra was the moderator of the conclave, and he divided the groups into three clusters: Junior Faculty Team, Senior Faculty Team and Existing Student Team; and all the groups presented on their dream curriculum with insightful notions & proposed revision based on the industry & regulatory requirements of NEP, NAAC, UGC, AICTE, UP Govt, NCHMCT & MoT.
Various associated stakeholder viz. alumni & young entrepreneur, practicing industry professional and academic expert from another prominent Institute were also present during this academic event, and they all contributed their suggestions to make the curriculum multifarious and integrative with latest trends & innovations happening in the contemporary industry.
The school of hospitality & tourism aims to put all measures of accreditation and evaluation to keep the programs & courses as strong and competitive in terms of its objective, nature and delivery by striving to prepare graduates to compete with industry standards regarding their professional skill-sets apart from attaining educational prospects, thereby facilitating to build a harmony among students, alumni, educators and industry-mentors in the exchange of work-place skills.
Prof. (Dr.) Rajiv Mishra assured all the presenting groups and stakeholders (students, alumni, entrepreneur, industry & academia expert) to implement the proposed changes with immediate effect from 2021-22 admission batch after getting the due endorsement from Board of Studies & Academic Council of the University.
