| Welcome to the Galgotias University, School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering (SCME). We are extremely proud of many accomplishments of our recognized programs of study in civil and mechanical engineering. First major objective of School of Civil and Mechanical to provide a learning community around which students, alumni, and professionals can gather to discuss issues relative to the profession of engineering and second is to provide a voice for engineers and professional to bring influence to the promotion of higher standards for learning and graduate preparation. SCME has a clear vision of its role as a leader of innovation, technology commercialization, and production of engineers and scientists. We are dedicated to providing innovative and high-quality opportunities for our students acquire the fundamental knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for entry and success in the professional practice of civil and mechanical engineering. Our students get state-of-the-art, hands-on engineering experience in well-equipped, modern facilities. Our graduates will be prepared for both the contemporary demands they will face when they enter the profession, as well as the technological challenges they need address in the future. Our programs provide advanced instruction in the latest tools and technology of engineering practice. | | Dr. Pranveer Singh Satvat Dean - School of Civil & Mechanical Engineering | |
| Co-operative education is an integral part of our undergraduate programs. Through students learn to put theory into practice and complement academic work with on-the-job knowledge. Faculty and corporate partners help students to take advantage of these opportunities through the many companies and projects available here in the nation’s capital. Through the introduction of innovative undergraduate and graduate programs, the Faculty of school of Civil and Mechanical Engineering has maintained its long-standing reputation for excellence in education and research, both nationally and internationally. Committed to excellent teaching and innovation, the faculty inspire their students to translate the knowledge acquired to solve real-world problems. The faculty are committed to our rigorous academic programs as they continue to maintain their respective Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accreditations. They are passionately involved in developing principled engineering leaders. Faculties are encouraged to make creative efforts and play their part for quality education and research and thus make useful contribution in the economic growth of the country. The students, faculty, and staff in the School of Engineering continue to grow in their education, scholarship, service and professional leadership within the local, regional and national communities. We congratulate all of our students, faculty and staff on their awards, honors, and accomplishments which clearly express their dedication and enthusiasm to excellence that springs from The Galgotias School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering. Without engineers, the quality of our day-to-day lives, that we often times take for granted, would not be available. Civil & Mechanical engineers do great things for our society. Civil engineers are responsible for the infrastructure that transports goods and people; the buildings that we live, work, and recreate in; the technologies to deliver safe drinking water, manage our waste, and remediate hazards; and the systems that protect us against natural disasters. In other words, civil engineers design, construct, and maintain almost every part of our communities, built environment that we live in every day. It’s not an overstatement to say that mechanical engineers are changing the world. The image of mechanical engineering as a colorless field associated with heavy industry has become a thing of the past. Today mechanical engineers work in all types of industries, including electronics, optics, advanced medical instruments and equipment, security, aerospace and others as well. Mechanical engineering is a multidisciplinary field that is undergoing major and rapid change, perhaps more than any other engineering field today. These dedicated professionals continue to push the boundaries of what is physically possible in order to produce safer, cheaper, and more efficient machines— from aircraft carriers to household appliances. Mechanical Engineering provides students with a solid foundation in the engineering sciences and a strong grounding in practical, problem-solving skills. This combined approach, along with hands-on project experiences, makes Galgotias University graduates ready and able to hit the ground running and add value from the very start of their careers. With excellent academic laboratories and equipment, we also embark on research activities from the grant that we acquire mainly from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. We are also looking forward for Joint Collaboration between faculty, universities and industries locally and internationally. Our research program also include postgraduate studies that we offer for the undergraduates to further their study at the Master’s and Doctorate level. We welcome you to an opportunity of becoming a graduate of the school and/or share with our community of diverse talent and commitment to service as outlined in the University service charter.
