GU's exceptional learning environment is supported by scholars who are experts in their field of study, are dedicated to pedagogical approaches with an engaged student focus and experiential-based. GU's faculty is engaged in scholarly research and publishes in academic and practitioner journals that are highly regarded in their field of study. Students will be provided an opportunity to work on research projects with world class faculty.
A variety of tools and platforms such as role-plays, case studies, simulations, field experience, and industry visits will provide students both a strong theoretical foundation and how to apply them in various contexts.
FLEXIBLE CREDIT SYSTEM
Galgotias University becomes among the front liner Universities to have implemented Flexible Credit System (FCS) for undergraduate programs (UG) of engineering. The 180 credits of an engineering program are divided among the courses of Engineering (66%), Science (20%), Humanities (8%) and Management (6%). The courses are offered to students using pools of courses, namely University Core, University Elective, Program Core and Program Elective. Interdisciplinary courses are offered to students in the form of University Elective. However, a school also offers more interdisciplinary courses through the pool of Open Elective.
FCS provides the students flexibility in choice for opting courses as well as time slots and teachers for all courses. This facilitates students to plan not only their own time tables but also to choose interdisciplinary courses to develop multi-multidisciplinary skills. Further, flexibility lies in selecting courses by the students according to their interest, career plan and capability. FCS is fully automated and students select courses, slots and teachers through online registration process. It facilitates add/drop of registered courses for load balance, withdrawal of courses when a student feels overburdened which improves the grade of a student in an ongoing semester (after CAT-I), availing post graduate level courses to acquire advanced knowledge. Students have the opportunity to transfer credits/branches easily.
Each student can register for minimum 18 to maximum 27 credits in a semester. Capable students can register highest credits (i.e., 27) in each semester and have chance to earn 180 credits required for B. Tech degree before four years. These students can involve in extra academic activities such as becoming instructor within university to gain teaching experience and working in research laboratory to gain research experience besides doing regular project.
